Biography

Cheryl serves as Founder and CEO of TEA unwrapped^®, a company that strives to make drinking quality tea simple and accessible through a new innovative product that preserves and delivers loose leaf tea & hot water with simplicity and precision.

Cheryl has always had a passion for tea.  She researched the tea industry to identify opportunities to add value to this growth industry that resulted in the creation of an innovative dispensing and storage product that will provide a new tool for corporations, colleges & universities, the hospitality sector, coffee shops and restaurants to sell loose leaf tea.  She is a Certified Tea Specialist, designated by the Specialty Tea Institute. 

During her 20+ year background in the education finance industry Cheryl established and managed debt and equity investor relations programs and helped structure and manage asset-backed securities with issuance exceeding $20 billion.  In 2003 she led the investor relations effort for an Initial Public Offering on the NYSE.  Her prior experience includes: Chief Communications Officer of Nelnet, Inc., Consultant for Lightyear Capital, President and Chief Financial Officer of USA Group Secondary Market Services while concurrently serving as Vice President and Treasurer of Sallie Mae Servicing, LLP.

She's an active member of the Indianapolis area and serves on the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors as a Past Chair for the Greater Indianapolis Area YMCA and as a board member for Junior Achievement's Experiential Learning & Entrepreneurship Foundation. She previously served as a board member and finance committee chair of Riverview Health Foundation, and as a member of the Indiana Wesleyan University Presidents Advisory Council for Excellence.

She's a graduate of Indiana University, holds a B.S in accounting and is a certified public accountant.

Cheryl resides in the Indianapolis area with her family.
